About Moji Olusoji

Moji Olusoji, the International award Winner is an Urban Contemporary Gospel Artiste. Although she is a practising Geoscientist, her calling rests on being an artiste.

She was born to late Mr Womisan Adefurin & Mrs Christianah Adefurin in Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria. She has a B.TECH degree in Applied Geophysics from Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria (FUTA) and an MSc in Exploration Geophysics from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom.
Moji is a performing and recording Gospel Artiste with her heart set to touch the whole world through rich and wholesome content, good vibes that will bring glory to the God of Heaven. She is a songwriter, singer and a worship leader. If you are looking for that soft yet strong voice to connect, you’ve got it in Moji Olusoji. Her voice texture is simply unique as described by many.
She actually did not consider herself a singer growing up because she felt singing was for the very high soprano voices of which she felt she was not. However way back in the late 80’s in the secondary school after her encounter with the Lord, she got involved with the fellowship choir. Thereafter she joined a group called Heavenly Connections made up of three ladies that were set to be a blessing to their generation and since then she has been involved in several bands and choirs both in Nigeria and the UK.
Moji’s conviction to sing comes from a vision she had way back in Secondary school that emphasizes the fact that she is called as a Worshipper to lead people into the presence of God.
Moji Olusoji writes all of her songs but sometimes performs some of the songs written by her husband Kayode Olusoji who is also a Songwriter and Singer. She started writing songs way back in the late 80’s. Her very first song “Lord Come and reign”, one of the songs in her debut album was written based on an experience she went through at that time. Some of her songs have also been featured in her band (CYS) at the Federal University of Technology, Akure. Ondo State, Nigeria and also during the Quarterly worship program (Simply Worship) anchored by her herself, her husband and The True Worshippers (TTW). She has seen several people blessed over the years through these songs. She gets her inspiration mostly during her time in the presence of God and through her experiences.
She started music professionally in 2007 with the release of her debut album titled ‘All Nations”. This did open doors for her in several nations including Accra Ghana, Johannesburg South Africa, Leeds, London and Cambridge in the UK. But she believes there are still heights to attain and this has inspired her to go to the studio to work on her second Album.
The second album is a collection of genres including Hip hop, Rock, R&B, soul etc all fussed together in songs aimed at getting her fans praising, dancing, worshipping and giving glory to God. Already one of her hit tracks titled “He’s Real” in this second album is enjoying air play at various radio and television stations in Nigeria, South Africa, Canada and the UK. In fact based on the Single “He’s Real”, she has had several outings in Nigeria and Europe and the response is simply wonderful. Within few months of airplay, her debut Video “He’s Real” has been selected twice as one of the Top 10 Gospel videos in 2011 on two (2) Nigerian media platforms.
The recent project (He’s Real) has earned her an International Award as the Best International Female Gospel Artist, GMA Italy 2012. It has also earned her 5 different nominations at the International level. One of the nominations was at the Wise Women Awards (WWA) 2012, UK & four nominations at the Gospel Music Awards (GMA) Italy, 2012 of which she won the Best International Female category.
Moji’s desire is not only to see the nations worship God but to be a part of bringing the heart of people to the worship of the Only Living God.
